Alison’s Jams and Chutneys was established in 2002 by Alison Murray. Having recently moved to Southern Scotland, Alison took the plunge into self-employment and created her small preserves business initially as a hobby to keep her occupied while her children were at school. As a child, Alison had helped both her Mum and her Grandma making preserves, so she already had a wealth of experience in manipulating recipes to discover new flavours as well as the basic techniques needed to make a perfect preserve. Many traditional recipes are still being used by Alison, taught to her by her Grandma. However, Alison’s ability to combine flavours into new and exciting recipes and to try new concoctions ensures that the Alison’s Jams and Chutneys range of preserves combines its traditional roots with a more contemporary twist.
